226 CLUBSPORT http://www.clubsportdundee.co.uk/ In 1986 the Dundee Sports Retailer headed by Graham McLaren began its sponsorship of the League Competitions which had failed to attract support during the intervening two seasons. Clubsport had initially tendered unsuccessfully for the ball contract and sponsorship in 1983 but once he had his opportunity, Spider’s firm became an established part of the Union’s fabric acting either as sponsor or as partner ever since. As with almost all the League sponsorships, the deal centred round the supply of balls with some cash coming to the Union and the remainder of the support being given in the form of kit vouchers for the clubs.
