Then came a rather more comprehensive setback for Brechin, to Arbroath this time, at Guthrie Park, a game in which young Sievwright earned his spurs with a good 69 after his father and Eldridge had dismissed Brechin for a lower score than they normally amassed. It was however a different story at Lochlands in the return fixture in the Arbroath Holiday Week, when Brechin won well.
