A History of Cricket at King Edward's School, BIrmingham
11 score a century for the county in first-class cricket: 139 not out v Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge, in Warwickshire’s initial first-class match in 1894. Although it is difficult to mark definite periods in years, this seems about the right place to close the account of the first few years at Eastern Road. These years had seen the growth of the game following the purchase of the ground in 1872, through a period when the cricket club was becoming more established and some good cricketers were emerging. Henceforth, the story is more fully documented in the School Chronicle. Cricket was now becoming firmly established.
