Colleen Morley Award adjudicated by Richard Skipworth This year’s award goes to Tyler Jowitt, a young cricketer stuck hard to his task throughout the winter. As a batsman he tends to stay tall at the crease and gets over the ball. He cuts and drives well but also has a solid defence. However, it is his persistence behind the stumps that has stood out. It is not easy in the nets, but he has stood up to the stumps all winter. His footwork has vastly improved as well as his glove work. His style can be a little unconventional but he is very effective. His hands are quick and his anticipation is improving. He is due to play a full year of senior cricket this summer and I am sure that there will plenty of catches and stumpings. The Society’s grateful thanks to all the youngsters for participating at the 2018 nets, supportive parents and of course, all of the WCLS coaching team: Darren Crossland (WCLS Coaching Coordinator), Mick Lindley, Brian Marsh, Richard Skipworth, Mark Shevill, John Ambler.
