The Wombwell Register GEOFF CLAYTON DEATHS The Society was saddened to learn of the death in February of Sheila Bryant , partner of our Pa- tron, Mike Cowan. The Society was also saddened to learn of the death in May of Debbie Frith , wife of our Patron, David Frith. David wrote to us to say ‘Debbie enjoyed that memorable visit we - with Frank and Ursula Tyson - made to the Wombwell some years ago. The happy memories help us through this darkest of times.’ We express our deepest con- dolences to both long-standing Patrons and supporters of the So- ciety. The Society is saddened to re- cord the passing of Frank Race of Carlton, Barnsley, a Wombwell Member since 1995. The former Lancashire and Somer- set wicket-keeper passed away on 19 September 2018. Geoff visited WCLS twice, first back in 1988 and again, in the company of Malcolm Lorimer, in March 2016 for a Lanca- shire evening. He was as forthright and honest on that March night three years ago as he had been as a player in the 1950s and ‘60s. Mal- colm Lorimer, in his role as Lanca- shire’s chaplain, conducted Geoff’s funeral service in a packed church.
