Lincolnshire County Cricket League and Grimsby and District Cricket League Guide 1969

FOREWORD I WAS most pleased to be asked, as Secretary of the South Humberside Sports Advi sory Council, to contribute a foreword to this season's Guide. Since its foundation in December, 1967, the Sports Advi nory Council has, I feel, built a sound foundation for its future activities in promoting sport within t he area, and helping sports associations, where possible, to solve problems which may face them. The sporting associations in the town have responded quickly and positively to the opportunity offered, and the representative of the cricket leagues has played an important role in the development of the Council's activ ities . Cricket is, of course, a major sporting pastime in this area, and it was most encouraging to find that the cricketing organisations showed interest in the Council's activities. This interest has been greatly appreciated, and I hope that the Council can respond and help cricket to continue to thrive in this area. You may be interested to know that, in addition to local sports displays, the Council is publishing a sports directory in the Spring, listing almost all the sporting facilities in the area . This will enable all those who are interested in sport to know what is available fo r them, and will, the Council hope, stimulate interest in sport generally. Your cricket representa– tives and your club secretaries will receive copies of this directory, and I hope that it will prove of value to you. May I wish you a happy and successfu l season. F. WARD, Hon. Secretary, South Humberside Sports Advisory Council. ERIC FEARNLEY 21 Hainton Ave., 37 Wintringham Rd. - Tel: 55573 for . .. COMMERCIAL, WEDDING & CINE PHOTOGRAPHY
