The other semi final was at Ramsbottom where Greenmount were restricted to 145 all out after deciding to bat first, Andy Kerr was 64 not out at the end and Matt Burdaky had figures of 9-4-15-4. Ramsbottom batted steadily and an unbroken partnership of 102 between Ben Pearson who made 54 and skipper Harry Caton 48 carried them through to the final which was at Burnley in front of another bumper crowd. Burnley won the toss and decided to bat first and Qasim Shah made 59 as a total of 165 was posted from the 50 overs. Ramsbottom made a great start with Tom Parton and JJ Fielding putting on 111 for the first wicket before man of the match JJ was out for 77. Ben Pearson then made 30 and Tom Parton was unbeaten on 57 as Ramsbottom chased down their target for the loss of just the one wicket and 12 overs left to spare. This is the tenth time Ramsbottom have won the Worsley cup equalling Burnley as the second most successful cup side, East Lancashire still holds the record with 18 wins. Senior League Cricket. The weather at the start of the season was far kinder than in 2024 and we didn’t actually have any abandoned fixtures until the 7th of June. In Division Two, the eventual runners up, Enfield pushed the champions throughout the season but in the end the consistency of 16 wins and just one defeat proved to be the deciding factor as they ended up 24 points clear. Professional Jacques Snyman again led the way with the impressive figures of 1231 runs at an average of 94.69 runs 4 centuries and 8 fifties. Skipper Travis Townsend made 595 runs and Andy Kerr 478, both scoring a century along the way. Snyman also took 49 wickets and Callum Hunter took 42. This is Greenmount’s first Division two title. The Premier League was different to the last 2 seasons with the most consistent side taking the title with several weeks to go. Runners up were Todmorden whose Professional Ed Moore made 700 runs with 2 centuries and 5 fifties. New signing Jack Edgar made 628 runs and Charlie Atkinson 259. The Priestley brothers also made over 200 runs and Harry Rickard made 218. Andrew Sutcliffe was top wicket taker with 31 just in front of Noah Priestley’s 30. This all added up to a record of P22 W 10 L 6 T 1 NR 5 BP 26 and a total of 157 points.
