MATCHDAY PREVIEWS Burnley, Haslingden, Ramsbottom and Enfield all arrive with history on their side. Every club is a founding member of the Lancashire League and each has previously lifted the T20 trophy, combining for nine titles between them. Adding to the uniqueness of this year’s event, all four finalists progressed after finishing second in their respective groups – the first time this has happened since the Finals Day format was introduced in 2017. With a place in the final at stake, four clubs with proud traditions now have the chance to write another chapter in their history. Hosts Burnley produced one of the competition’s great recoveries simply to reach Finals Day. Needing victory over Nelson and favourable results elsewhere to escape the group, they qualified on Net Run Rate before defeating local rivals Lowerhouse in the quarter-final to secure home advantage. The hosts have been led by two outstanding performers. Liam Bedford has enjoyed a record- breaking campaign, scoring 293 runs at an average of 146.50, including an unbeaten 86 in the quarter-final, while captain and professional Ockert Erasmus has spearheaded a youthful bowling attack with 13 wickets, highlighted by a match-winning five-wicket haul against Lowerhouse. Standing in Burnley’s way are inaugural champions Haslingden, returning to Finals Day for the first time since 2014. Professional Jeet Raval and Adam Masood have provided the bulk of the runs, while captain Sean Hunsley and Oliver Cameron lead an experienced bowling attack that has consistently delivered throughout the campaign. History offers little to separate the sides. Haslingden currently lead the T20 head-to-head 3-2, while Burnley will hope home support can help level the record and book a place in the final.
